TOAD: Nov. 13th, 2007: A street photo/art collage that someone put up right near our apartment. See it in closer detail here. Neat.
TOAD: Nov. 14th, 2007: On Wednesday mornings, two women sell freshly made doughnuts to the many people from Park Slope who make their way to/from Flatbush Avenue. You can find them [...]

Our friend Micah’s somewhat bizarre, yet impassioned, crusade to get us to stop using Nalgene bottles has finally worked. Ultimately it came down to the fact that if they don’t kill you, they’ll definitely hurt some bunnies, and that’s not cool. At all. We’re now a 100% Sigg bottle family.

It has been an exceptionally hectic time at work so I’m falling behind more than I ever have with the blog + photos. Here’s a quick run through the past few weeks. Once things calm down a bit, we’ll get together a post on our experience running the Marathon (we finished in 4 hours and [...]

TOAD: Oct. 22nd, 2007: After recommendations from Kip and Oliver, I took the plunge and am very happy with the results. This + the awesome Aveeno shaving cream recommendation I got from Kevin and John and my shaves are no longer bloodbaths.
TOAD: Oct. 23rd, 2007: I turned my ankle the week before the marathon (more [...]

I have raved about the Bakers Edge here before, but not until yesterday did I fully realize its capabilities. It can honestly say it really out did itself yesterday.
Last night we ventured on to recipe I wasn’t sure about—lasagna. I have never been one for lasagna—probably because it always seems really soggy and wet, [...]

I made a Chocolate Stout Cake for my Mom’s Birthday last week. Despite realizing I am not in fact the owner of a bundt pan, as this recipe recommends, it came out rather well. I went with a two layer cake instead and covered it with ganache in the end. Sadly, I don’t have a [...]

I’ve been a little squeezed for time recently so I’ve got a backlog of photos to get through here (I’m starting to notice a pattern). Anyway, here goes…
TOAD: Oct. 8th, 2007: While I miss the days when you could just get a watch and wear it, I am loving my new Garmin Forerunner 305.
TOAD: Oct. [...]

It’s rare that I see something on a cooking show that I want to make, but on our way to Chicago a few weeks ago on Jet Blue, there wasn’t much else on when I stumbled upon Emeril live. I’d actually never seen his show before, so I stopped for a few minutes to see [...]

Last weekend was my 31st birthday and Karen and I started off the celebrations by running 14 miles (longest run ever!). After a little afternoon recovery nap, we headed down to the old neighborhood for some food and drinks at Sidecar.
(TOAD: Sept. 22nd, 2007) After a slew of drinks and some really delicious food (I [...]

Lisa and Randy got married on September 21st at the Smack Mellon Gallery in DUMBO.
The couple address the crowd.
The event also doubled as my first shot at DJing a “real” event. By “real” I mean “an event that really matters to people and isn’t tailored for a drunk crowd at Loreley”. I have to admit, [...]
