I turned 30 last weekend! Friday to be exact.
Despite turning what seems to be very old, I had an excellent weekend. We kicked off the festivities on Thursday evening with a last minute plan to go to the Yankee/Red Sox game at Yankee Stadium. Thanks, Mo! Dennis and Matt were up for the last […]

Virginia Chutney: building a chutney empire - one jar at a time.
April 6, 2008
Here’s a great piece about the Virginia Chutney Company (made of up of our friend Oliver Turner and his lovely parents) and how, whether you realize it or not, chutney is sweeping the nation. In fact,
…if you think you’ve never eaten chutney, you’re probably wrong. Ever had ketchup? Or McDonald’s sweet and sour sauce on […]
Waffles (wafels) and Dinges
April 5, 2008
Phew!
I just had a minor freak out when I saw my friend Donny’s flickr stream that he posted photos of his visit to the Wafels and Dinges truck in Brooklyn last week (note: not the first Saturday of the month as today is, as when I was anticipating that the waffles would be back in […]
Which mega-corporation owns your favorite little organic brand?
March 15, 2008
Not to say we were completely delusional about the business nature behind these things, but it still hurts to see the truth right in front of your face - seeing our buddies Kashi and Bear Naked on this list was particularly disheartening (Oddly enough both under the same parent company. Maybe we secretly love Kellogg’s?) […]
Ordering a pizza has never been so awesome
January 18, 2008
Check out this pizza configurator Crispin Porter + Bogusky recently launched for Domino’s. Big bonus points for tying in a little user-generated content by letting their users save the pizzas they create and make them available to the Domino’s community at large. Everyone becomes a snack artist!

Finally! A bar with a loyalty program…
January 8, 2008
… and its only a few blocks away from our apartment! Pacific Standard has also concocted some interesting prizes for your loyalty. My favorite is the “all-expenses-paid trip to Williamsburg”. If that’s not enough to get you excited, maybe a word with the drinking robot they’re building will convince you.

Manlio is in town? Let’s go ride some bulls!
December 30, 2007
Friday night Manlio was in NYC so we grabbed some dinner with him before heading into town. In the cab ride, he mentioned a bar that Dennis had recommend. This bar, he said, had a mechanical bull. That was all he needed to say before Alex and I were requesting the location and directing the […]
Christmas recap
December 29, 2007
In what has become a great little tradition, Karen and I had my mother over for dinner this Christmas Eve. We made a roasted chicken, green beans sauteed with mushrooms and crushed almonds and I took a crack at making potatoes-au-gratin - a childhood favorite of mine that my mother used to make.
After dinner, Karen […]
TOAD: Dec. 21st - 25th
December 26, 2007
TOAD: Dec. 21st, 2007: I really liked the very defined line the leaves were making with this one.
TOAD: Dec. 22nd, 2007: For the first time we went to, Geido, the sushi place a stone’s throw from our place and really enjoyed it. They had a few great personal touches that they added to […]
