A Smylie Wedding!
June 17, 2008 by karen
We spent this past weekend up in Narragansett, Rhode Island, celebrating the wedding of our friends’, Robb and Sarah Smylie. We had a great time road tripping, cruising around the coast of Rhode Isand on a sunset cruise, eating tons of fresh seafood and just generally being happy for the newlyweds.
The wedding itself was amazing and can be categorized as one of the most thoughtful weddings I have ever attended. They did almost everything they could do themselves from not only designing the invitations, but printing them on a Gocco, printing flags in honor of flag day to baking all the desserts for the wedding. A whole buffet of desserts! Why don’t I have a picture of that? They were delicious and I am impressed they banged out something like 75 mini pies the week of their wedding. It sounds like they had a busy week before the wedding getting everything in order, but I suspect in retrospect, they know it was totally worth it.
Based on the photos I have seen from their fauxto booth on flickr, I think they know we had a great time. Especially Matt. Have you ever seen a sweatier wedding guest? The good news was that people steered clear of us on the dance floor.
Some photos from the weekend:

Dancing machines! Two words, Matt: white shirt.
On Sunday we pit-stopped in New Haven for some pizza at Frank Pepe’s. Delish!
