A month of TOADS

Date June 6, 2008 by karen

I’ve been really slacking when it comes to posting and organizing my TOADs lately, but a month of photos are finally on flickr. Check ‘em out here. I uploaded a bunch of them last week and finally got around to titles and captions today, so not only am I posting a month’s worth of photos, I am already a week behind with posting my newest photos!

Anyway, here are a few from the recent update:

On my way to work a few weeks ago, I grabbed a banana from the fruit bowl on our table and found it was labeled. Can you guess who just got a label maker?

My first CSS class went pretty well and it seems I’ll learn a whole lot, at least a lot quicker than if I did this through a book or grabbing someone’s code. The weirdest thing about my class was instead of just saying “ok, see you next week! the computer actually prepared to shut down, as though saying “beat it!”

Alex’s friend Jonathan from high school, his lovely wife, Meredith, and their adorable son, Wyatt, came to meet us for lunch in NYC a couple of weeks ago when they were passing through the city on their way from one college reunion to the next. They live in L.A. so we haven’t seen them in a number of years, but through the magic of the internet and our blogs, we’ve kept in touch really well. In fact we even know what Jonathan is eating for dinner every night in 2008. And here’s a fun fact about Meredith: she won a golden record for producing the movie Step Up!

Anytime someone posts a photo of their lunch from Shake Shack in Madison Square Park I get immediate cravings for burgers, fries and milkshakes. Last week Dennis posted a photo and the next day I had convinced my brother to get to the stand by 11 a.m. when it opened and wait on line for 45 minutes for our food while I finished a meeting in the luxury of my office and then scurried uptown to meet him. I arrived just in time for the food to arrive to the table. Perfect timing! I’d give Shake Shack a B+ (but that may be because I don’t eat beef burgers and went with the super greasy ’shroom burger). By the time we left the line was literally four times as long as when Jeff stood in line. How do these people have three hours to kill for “fast food”?
