The New Kings of Non-Fiction

I can’t even talk about how behind I am in my 24 in 12 project, because I am just too humiliated to admit that I couldn’t manage to read two books a month, but I can talk about how much I enjoyed my last book.

The New Kings of Non Fiction
is edited by Ira Glass and written by a number of the great non-fiction authors of our time: Michael Lewis, Malcom Gladwell, Ren Weschler, and Susan Orlean to name a few. Their stories range in topic: white collar child criminals and interviewing Val Kilmer to WWII and Saddam Hussein, making it a really enjoyable and interesting anthology of tales. I think it’s rare to find a book when you are laughing on the train in one chapter and the next you’re thinking “Huh. Really? I didn’t know that.”

If you haven’t read it yet, I definitely recommend it. A few of the stories were pulled from previous publications, but they were enjoyable to read again.
