One Week’s Worth of Food Around Our Planet

Date November 27, 2007 by karen

Someone from a listserv I am on passed along this post: One Week’s Worth of Food Around Our Planet. It’s really interesting to see the types of food purchased around the world as well as what that costs in dollars. At a quick glance it seems like the family from Egypt may have the healthiest looking spread (aside from the soda), while Ecuador and Bhutan seem to be entirely vegetarian. I assume it’s no surprise that the Americans noted Sesame Chicken and Ice Cream as their favorite foods.

I thought I was the only person in the world who lists pig’s knuckles as their favorite food. Yum!
