TOAD: Catchup! (Sept. 17-24th)

TOAD: Sept. 17th, 2007: As you all know, Karen and I are running the NYC Marathon on November 4th and I’m trying to raise money for Team Continuum (and I need your help! If you’ve already donated, thank you so much.)
My race prep happened to coincide with a keen interest in a company called Reactee, which can loosely be categorized as Apparel 2.0 if you like playing the lingo game. Reactee has an SMS shortcode (41411) and what you do is a) pick a keyword that no one else is using (”Go Alex Go”), b) customize the main callout text (”26.2″) and c) customize the text implying what will happen when someone texts your keyword (”to make it possible”). Then, you pick what you want to happen when someone texts your keyword to their shortcode - I am sending people the URL to my fundraising site, but you can imagine a slew of possibilities on clever ways you could take advantage of this (get some inspiration in the gallery). The people working over there are super nice and have a pretty clever idea on their hands. Go see what you can make.

TOAD: Sept. 19th, 2007: An awesome burger from Alchemy. They also do a mean Jalepeno grits. Bonus fun fact: one of their chefs lives above us in our new building.
TOAD: Sept. 20th, 2007: As we hit the final month of Marathon training, I’ve to come to grips with the fact that I need to find one of these mid-race carb supplements that I like. So far the Orange Burst GU is not my thing. Up next weekend: Espresso Love.
[ Sept. 21st, 2007: Stay tuned for a special entry about Lisa and Randy's wedding at the Smack Mellon Gallery. ]
[ Sept. 22nd, 2007: Also on the way is an entry about my 31st birthday at Sidecar. ]
TOAD: Sept. 23rd, 2007: Check out the Jack Purcells Karen got me for my birthday!
