Another Yanks/Sox series…

Date June 1, 2007 by alex

Surprise, surprise, I’m not super excited for this series. Gabe brings up a good point though - the matchups are good and its really time for the Yankees to do SOMETHING. Joel Sherman pens what I think is the first not completely pessimistic article about the Yanks in weeks. Anyway, they got me in a mood this afternoon so onto the predictions (this time with stats!)…

Friday: RHP Chien-Ming Wang (3-4, 4.13) vs. RHP Tim Wakefield (5-5, 3.36)
Yanks win 7-4

Saturday: RHP Mike Mussina (2-3, 5.86) vs. 38pitches.com (5-2, 3.68)
Yanks win 5-4

Sunday: LHP Andy Pettitte (3-4, 2.51) vs. RHP Josh Beckett (8-0, 2.65)
FUCK IT, Yanks win 6-3 handing Country Boy his first L on the season.

That’s right, we’re pulling out ALL the stops!

Do I have any reason to be confident? NO!

Am I saying the Yankees will sweep the Sox in Fenway? YES!

Does it even matter if the Yankees do sweep them? NOT REALLY!

Would I put money on these predictions? NO!

(sniffle)

saturday (mussina v. schilling) yanks 9-4

alex, i’m here for you, whenever you need me.

    okay, i have two mins.

Wang/Wake: Repeat of last time they faced off. Both will get in trouble, and each will labor through 6 innings. This time Wake comes out the winner. Sox win 7-6

Moose/Schill: I’m getting no feelings about this game. Mussina has been pretty crappy, and the yanks seems to have Schill’s # no matter what he does. Given we win the night before, yanks loose steam in fenway. Sox win 7-4.

Petitte/Beckett: Both are shakey in the early innings. It’s 4-4 by the 3rd inning. Sox score more runs in the end. 8-7 Sox.

Ouch, i swear i’m not being a dick. Just speaking for the gods.
