Inconsistencies

TOAD: January 8th, 2007: I saw this little ride on the way home from the 9th Street F stop. I am a huge sucker for Christmas lights and thought they’d provide a nice frame on the right side of the photo. Unfortunately I didn’t really handle the light across the street well and it has all but ruined the photo. Lesson learned: at night, a bright light can really dominate the photo so try and find a way to frame the picture so that it has a minimal effect.

On another note, I thought this car provided an interesting juxtaposition to the carelessness Brooklyn Burger Bar has shown in their core competency - making food (you might remember that they can’t even make a proper grilled cheese sandwich).

They clearly put a lot of care and thought into getting this rare car all done up in an effort to reflect their brand and attract customers when the car’s travelling through the neighborhood.

I guess my point is when you’re starting a new venture (that goes double for an industry as competitive as the restaurant business) you should put the same amout of energy, thought and care into *all* aspects of what you do, not just the ones that get the people in the door. Especially when you greet them with seemingly microwaved grilled cheeses and the word “pickel” on your menu. That sort of carelessness can guarantee them an experience they won’t come back for, no matter how cool your delivery car looks.
