Should you or should you not get the extended warranty on that _____ ?

I often wrestle with this when buying electronics (Applecare anyone?). The Washington Post does a great job of breaking down the issure. In short: no, you should not. Don’t be lazy, though. Find out the full reason. If anyone can tell me whether this applies to getting the insurance when you rent a car, let me know, cause I never know what to do.

basically all you need is liablilty and the major collision stuff. the rest is useless. wait, you already have car insurance. don’t get jack shit when you rent a car. you should be covered under your policy.

yeah… but i’ve found that applecare is somewhat worth it, especially if you want to keep your laptop for more than 1.5 years, because that’s usually when i find they start falling apart…
insurance when you rent a car is stupid, and if you have normal car insurance, you’re already covered, so you can go hit a few people and be fine.

turns out i was off on the car ins. thing. you’re usually covered on a rental when you’re using it as a replaciement, eg, your car is in the shop. when you’re just on a holiday, it’s different. however, you still only need collision and personal injury…
