Best. Shoes. Ever.

After about a year of admiring them from a distance and getting recommendations from friends, I finally broke down and purchased a pair of Merrell Chamelon Stretch II shoes this weekend when we happened to wander past an outdoorsy store in Park Slope. From the moment I slipped these little darlings on my feet, I knew I was sold - the only question was which color to get.
I decided on the Kangaroo/Boa color (pictured above) and decided to wear them out of the store (a true sign of a shoe decision that was meant to be). For the rest of the day, I couldn’t stop commenting on how awesome they were.
Pros:
- extrememly comfortable
- they feel very light, yet supportive
- easy to slip on and off - no laces!
- they look cool (to me, at least)
- they breathe well (no sweaty feet)
Cons:
- they cost $99, which isn’t cheap. let’s hope they last a while.
- I’m bummed that it took me so long to try them on. I sniffle at all the time we could have spent together. all the things we could have done.
I have often read and heard that if you find a pair of jeans or shoes that you *really* like - like enough to immediately start stressing out about a world in which they may be discontinued - then you should go and buy yourself a second pair immediately. I’ve always thought this to be both silly and over-indulgent but after I was burnt in the past by this (I still miss you, Tsubo Megladon) I knew I didn’t want to risk living in that world. I decided to go for it and order a second pair (different color, though) immediately. Boy did that feel good. They should be arriving by the end of the week and then I’ll be all set.
